Costa Rica is internationally known as the safest country in Central America, providing visitors with a peaceful environment for their stay. In addition, it has the oldest uninterrupted democracy in Latin America.

Air connectivity

Air connectivity is assured thanks to the two main international airports that receive an average of 233 operations per day from major cities around the world, allowing the constant movement of passengers through safe and modern ports of entry. Juan Santamaría International Airport is the main airport in the country, located in Alajuela, only eight kilometres from the Convention Center and ten kilometres from the city of San José.

The Costa Rica Convention Center is in a strategic location, just 8 km from the Juan Santamaría International Airport, the main air access route, and 10 km from the center of the capital, San José. Access is easy and direct from the General Cañas Highway.

National Theater of Costa Rica

Located in the heart of San José and constituted as the most important cultural center of the country, this place has not only been the scene of first world presentations in music, dance, or theatre, but all of it is a work of art that tells the story of a coffee-growing country that has always dreamed big. It is considered the architectural jewel of the country.

Melico Salazar National Theatre

Located on Segunda Avenue on the north side of the Central Park, it is currently considered one of the historical-architectural heritage icons of Costa Rica. In addition to attending theatrical plays, here you can learn about the history and the corners of this beautiful building in the guided tours offered to all visitors.

Costa Rican Art Museum

Located in La Sabana, it presents in its walls and halls all those activities related to the plastic arts of Costa Rica. It gathers and shows works of the most renowned national and international plastic artists, mainly in painting, sculpture, and photography.

National Museum of Costa Rica

Once an old fort, where President José Figueres Ferrer abolished the army with a symbolic blow to one of its walls; it is located on Central and Second Avenue, on the east side of the Plaza de la Democracies, very close to the National Theatre; it is now a precinct that exhibits a wide range of exhibits on natural history, anthropology and archaeology, and also offers lectures, workshops, specialized collections and guided tours.

Philatelic and Postal Museum of Costa Rica

Imposing in its structure and declared a Relic of Historical and Architectural Value, this visited museum is located on the second floor of the central building of the Costa Rican Post Office. With postal collections, objects from the history of mail and communications, its facilities offer guided tours and recreational activities related to the postal trade.

Costa Rica Grand Hotel

Located on the pedestrian boulevard of Central Avenue, the Grand Hotel Costa Rica combines its classic design with the good service and comfort offered to its visitors; among cafes, stores, museums, bookstores, and other important attractions, it offers a spectacular view of the National Theater.

La Merced Church

Iconic temple of the capital, the Church of Our Lady of La Merced or better known as the Church of La Merced receives every day many visitors. It’s beautiful design shows an architecture of German Gothic influence and is historical-architectural heritage of Costa Rica.

Metropolitan Cathedral of San José

Located right in the center of the city, this emblematic church has beautiful works of art, an imposing tabular organ, fine stained-glass windows, vaults and crypts. It was declared of Historic Architectural Interest.
