“We focus all our efforts on events. That is it! Such value of specialization makes a difference more and more companies are taking advantage of,” said Álvaro Rojas, General Manager, National Congress and Convention Center. Esteban Monge/La República [Newspaper].
Costa Rican companies are using the Convention Center of Costa Rica (CCCR) as a place for a range of activities, not just meetings.
Concerts, weddings, fairs, and sports races are part of the events hosted by companies at these facilities.
“We come as a new player in a market that is not used to this model. We focus all our efforts on events. That is it! We do not deal with rooms, restaurants, and casinos. Such value of specialization makes a difference more and more companies are taking advantage of,” said Álvaro Rojas, General Manager at the CCCR.
The building has a 3,739 square-meter main hall with a capacity for 4,000 people, as well as six rooms, lobbies, and parking spaces for 1,000 vehicles.
Room is arranged for groups of 10 up to 3,000 people, even 6,000 people for concerts.
In addition to versatility, quality, and a broad portfolio of services, this was decisive for Florida Ice and Farm Company (FIFCO) to select the CCCR as the place for a massive celebration on its 110th anniversary this November.
“The 110 th anniversary party will be the first concert and social celebration to be held in this place. This celebration will include brand activation and experience for more than 2,200 people,” said Gisela Sánchez, Corporate Relations Manager at FIFCO.
The activity includes concerts by Zion & Lennox and national groups.
In addition, event producers and wedding planners agree on a variety of settings in a single facility, as well as on all amenities.
PubliCatch chose the CCCR to host the Belgium Fest –an activity scheduled at the beginning of December to offer chocolate, beer, and other products from that country.
“The CCCR has become a choice to improve our events, with several halls for the organizer to handle options. It works for indoor and outdoor activities. The Belgium Fest includes both. We will have food trucks and activities outside,” stated América Jiménez, Belgium Fest Producer.
Those interested in hosting social or corporate events at the CCCR should know they only pay for facilities, while hotels or other cases require payment for use.
They should also budget for food, entertainment and furniture, among other aspects of each activity. The nature of convention centers is different from that of a hotel or club. Therefore, the investment value is different from what the market has been used to.
“Sometimes this makes closing business deals faster more complicated, but companies are increasingly using the CCCR,” concluded the General Manager.
Doing business is 100% advice oriented. First, the staff should know the objective and relevant information of the event. Then, they send customers a financial offer.
